SOC 2 Compliance for AI Applications

Prepare AI operational evidence for a SOC 2 review without treating monitoring or a generated report as certification.

By DriftRail · Updated

An AI monitoring system can supply evidence for a SOC 2 review, but the review concerns the organization’s defined scope, controls, and operation. Installing a tool or exporting a report does not establish certification or an assurance conclusion.

Prepare evidence for your reviewer

  1. Record the AI systems, owners, suppliers, and data flows within the assessment scope.
  2. Map each requested control to actual implementation evidence and an accountable owner.
  3. Retain appropriate change approvals, access reviews, evaluation results, and incident records.
  4. Record gaps and exceptions honestly instead of marking a control complete because logs exist.

Example: evidence of an access control

A list of access events can support an investigation. To show that a boundary works, also test an unauthorized request, confirm that it is rejected, and preserve the result with the relevant release and configuration. Agree the required evidence with the reviewer.

Verify scope and claims

Confirm the applicable framework edition, assessment scope, criteria, and evidence period with the responsible assessor. This page makes no claim about DriftRail’s own certification or an independent assessment of your organization.
